ALLEGED LESBIAN ACTIVITIES

a musical for New Orleans' lost dyke bars

Inside of Franki's bar, performers interact with previous generations of queer family through voice-over pulled directly from Last Call’s oral history interviews with devoted customers of New Orleans' lesbian bars of the 70s and 80s. Alleged Lesbian Activities brings us closer to the myriad answers of Last Call’s central question, “Where did all the dyke bars go?” by conjuring up a dyke bar as sexy, powerful, vulnerable, and complex as the stories we have heard about them.

Alleged Lesbian Activities is the first full-length, original performance by Last Call: New Orleans Dyke Bar History Project. Shows ran from September 2-18 at the Theatre at St. Claude (2240 St. Claude). September 2016's run of Alleged Lesbian Activities was preceded by a work-in-progress performance in January 2016.
